Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Certified Medical/Office Assistant to join our team. As a Certified Medical/Office Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing quality patient care and assisting healthcare professionals in various clinical and administrative tasks. ******Our main office is in New Brunswick, NJ and opening another location in Plainsboro, NJ- Candidate must be willing to travel, if needed, at least 1 to 2 times a week to Plainsboro
We are a neurology private practice specialized to treating people with epilepsy, cognitive impairment or behavioral disturbances due to neurological conditions. We are professional, social and collaborative. Compassion and patience are necessary.
Responsibilities:- Perform routine patient care activities, including taking vital signs, assisting with examinations and procedures.- Administer medications as directed by healthcare providers.- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including medical history, allergies, and medications.- Assist with patient education by providing information on procedures, medications, and follow-up care.- Assist with cognitive testing and EEG prep- Handle administrative tasks, such as scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and chart prep., scanning, answering phones, emails.- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality.
- Knowledge of medication pre-certification is helpful
Qualifications:- High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a certified medical assistant program preferred.- Current certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) preferred.- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and coding practices.- Proficient in performing vital signs measurements accurately.- Experience working in a hospital or clinical setting is highly desirable.- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to provide exceptional patient service.- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
