Private preschool in Westfield seeking F/T teachers in our Nursery ages 6 weeks to 18 month old.
As an Infant Teacher at Bamboo Shoots Preschool, you will play a crucial role in nurturing and caring for infants aged 6 weeks to 18 months in our preschool program. You will provide individualized attention and create a safe, stimulating environment where infants can grow and thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
Care and Supervision:
Provide nurturing care and individualized attention to infants aged 6 weeks to 18 months.
Ensure the physical, emotional, and social well-being of each infant.
Maintain a safe environment, including adhering to health and safety standards and conducting regular safety checks.
Curriculum and Activities:
Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities and routines that promote infant growth and development.
Foster language development through storytelling, songs, and conversation.
Encourage sensory exploration through age-appropriate materials and activities.
Communication and Collaboration:
Maintain open and ongoing communication with parents/guardians regarding their child’s daily activities, progress, and development through Brightwheel and phone calls.
Collaborate with other teachers and staff to ensure continuity of care and smooth transitions for infants.
Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities as required.
Documentation and Record Keeping:
Maintain accurate records of daily routines, activities, and observations of each infant’s development.
Prepare progress reports and assessments as needed, in accordance with program and regulatory requirements.
2 years prior experience working with Infants in a Preschool a must.
Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities and routines that promote infant growth and development.
Foster language development through storytelling, songs, and conversation.
Encourage sensory exploration through age-appropriate materials and activities.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent; Child Development Associate (CDA) or Associate’s/Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education preferred.
Previous experience working with infants in a childcare or preschool setting.
Knowledge of early childhood development, including milestones and best practices.
CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
Ability to communicate effectively with infants, parents, and colleagues.
Additional Requirements:
Must have a love for children and be energetic, responsible, and reliable.
Must commit for the entire school year.
