Responsibilities:- Review and analyze medical records to ensure accurate coding of diagnoses and procedures- Assign appropriate codes using ICD-10 and ICD-9 coding systems- Verify and validate coding accuracy for billing purposes- Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation and resolve coding discrepancies- Submit claims to insurance companies and follow up on claim status- Process payments, refunds, and adjustments related to medical billing- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
Experience:- Minimum of 2 years of experience in cardiology medical billing or coding- Proficiency in ICD-10 and ICD-9 coding systems- Knowledge of DRG (Diagnosis Related Group) coding is preferred- Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in coding and billing processes- Excellent communication skills to interact with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients.
