Position Overview: Our team is looking for a dedicated and experienced Phlebotomist to join the healthcare team on a full-time basis. We also have some part-time and per diem opportunities. As a phlebotomist you will play a vital role in our patient care process by ensuring the safe and efficient collection of blood samples for diagnostic purposes. Your attention to detail, compassionate patient care, and commitment to upholding the highest standards of quality and safety are essential in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform venipunctures and skin punctures on patients to collect blood samples for various laboratory tests.
Verify patient information to ensure accurate specimen labeling and documentation.
Maintain a sterile and safe work environment, adhering to infection control and safety protocols.
Provide exceptional patient care, ensuring comfort and confidence during the phlebotomy process.
Properly handle and store collected specimens, including labeling, packaging, and transportation.
Maintain accurate records and documentation of all phlebotomy procedures.
Communicate effectively with healthcare professionals and laboratory staff to ensure timely and accurate specimen processing.
Assist in the organization and inventory management of phlebotomy supplies and equipment.
Stay updated on the latest phlebotomy techniques, safety procedures, and industry regulations through ongoing education and training.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and quality of the phlebotomy process.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited phlebotomy program is required.
Current Phlebotomy Certification from a recognized certifying agency (e.g., ASCP, NHA) is a plus.
Previous experience as a phlebotomist in a healthcare setting is preferred.
Strong knowledge of phlebotomy techniques, equipment, and safety protocols.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to handle stressful situations with professionalism and empathy.
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented healthcare environment.
