Description
Responsible for the continuous surveillance of the monitors of cardiac telemetry patients. Continually observes cardiac monitors of critical care and telemetry patients and reports changes and /or irregular patterns to the professional Nurse.
Records and mounts individual rhythm strips on all patient charts after calculating rate, rhythm and interval measurements.
Maintains continuous shift record of heart rate changes, ectopic beats, alarms…and other pertinent data. Must successfully complete an arrhythmia training program.
Follow established policies and procedures. Communicates openly with internal customers and supervisors.
Provides excellent customer service interfacing well with all levels of staff, management, and physicians.

Experience Required
Previous Monitor Technician or EMT experience preferred.
Education Requirements
High School graduate or equivalent.
Dysrhythmia (EKG) course required.
License/Certification Requirements
American Heart Association, (AHA) CPR (Basic Life Support) Certification required
