Adecco Healthcare & Life Sciences is hiring a Medical Assistant in Toms River, NJ! This role is onsite / in person.
Type: Three-month contract, with potential for extension or full-time offer
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8 am to 4 pm
Pay: $22 - $24/hr
Location: Toms River, NJ onsite
Pay Details: $22.00 to $24.00 per hour
Responsibilities of the Medical Assistant:
· Facilitates the provision of care to patients by accurately documenting clinical information
· Perform following duties including but not limited to: obtain physical measurements which includes heights, weights, blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiratory rate and all documented according to department standards. Reports abnormal results to the provider. Performs EKGs.
· Organize patient care area based upon patient needs and priorities as identified by the department.
· Assists physicians with procedures and studies.
· Schedule ancillary test for patients if requested by physician and provide patients with ancillary services information such as telephone number and address
· Maintains open communication with the provider regarding patient care matters.
· Demonstrates health care informatics competency in order to manage patient care, outcome data and current and emerging health care technology, which includes:
· Basic computer competency, including the effective use of patient care devices, computers, computer software programs such as e-mail and word processing programs.
· Information literacy, including the effective use of electronic resources for patient care
· Information management skills, including the effective use of the electronic health record and clinical information systems.
· Utilize infection prevention and control procedures according to health system policy
· Stock patient exam rooms
· Perform assigned clerical duties including but not limited to registration, scheduling, answering phones, chart preparation and patient appointments
· Assists multiple specialty.
Qualifications for the Medical Assistant:
· Highschool/GED or equivalent
· Minimum of one-year experience in a health care environment and previous knowledge of Healthcare Insurance carriers preferred.
· High School Diploma or equivalent
· Medical Assistant Certification (must be one of the 7 certifications accepted by State of New Jersey)
· BLS certification
· Knowledge of EMR-Epic preferred.
· Vaccinations required: MMR, Flu Shot, Varicella, TB Blood Test, Hep B., Tdap
· Experience with Cardiology and Dermatology is a plus.
